Booking rooms – but how?

TU Braunschweig has a large number of rooms that can be booked for every conceivable event. Unfortunately, not all rooms can be booked in the same way. This handbook entry is therefore intended to provide a rough overview of which rooms are available and how they can be booked. However, the overview does not claim to be complete. If you know of other suitable rooms, please get in touch with the Sandkasten team.
Overview of venues
There is an overview of event venues at TU Braunschweig on the Sandkasten platform, where you should be able to find something for every taste. It’s worth taking a look if an event is planned and no venue has been found yet. You can use the filter function to search for a venue according to your needs. Click on the venue to get all the important information, such as facilities, toilets or access options.
Sandkasten-Zentrale
The Sandkasten-Zentrale in the Altgebäude can be used by project teams for meetings and collaborative work. There is a projector, six standing places, whiteboards and various materials for collaborative work. To book, you can contact your project coach or send an email to sandkasten@tu-braunschweig.de.
Room booking via the lecture hall allocation
Most rooms (lecture halls and seminar rooms) can be booked via the central lecture hall allocation system. To do this, you must send an email to hoersaalvergabe@tu-bs.de with information about which room you would like to book and why you need the room. The responsible staff will usually get back to you very quickly and discuss all further details.
Incidentally, you should also contact the Lecture Hall Allocation Office if you are organizing events on the TU campus, for example as part of your project. Normally, you will then have to fill out the application form for the use of a university facility directly.
Attention: A deadline of four weeks applies for the room application! If you need a room at short notice, ask nicely, then the lecture hall allocation is usually accommodating ;)
Rooms in the Studihaus
The Studihaus (Wendenring 1-4) is managed by the AStA and has many study rooms as well as a large seminar room. You can borrow electronic keys for access on a monthly basis from the AStA. The Studihaus is also equipped with a small kitchen (no hotplates!).
The seminar room offers space for up to 50 people and is perfect for larger meetings. Unfortunately, there is no projector, but this can be borrowed from the Gauß IT Center, Sandkasten-Sharing or directly from the AStA.
Rooms in the Masch.Bau
The Masch.Bau - Studierendenhaus has 16 study rooms for smaller groups (4-6 people), which can be rented via a central booking system. You can access the rooms with your TU student card. You can find all information on the website.
There is also a large conference room in the Masch.Bau. It has space for up to 50 people and is equipped with everything that is important for conferences, presentations, seminars etc.. The room must be booked through the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (gf-fmb@tu-braunschweig.de). It is best not to book the room shortly beforehand, as it is very popular and can be booked out quickly.
Carolo Campus Café (C3)
C3 is a small, cosy café that is managed and organized by the student body. Coffee is available here at very fair prices and the premises are also suitable for project team meetings. However, C3 is not necessarily the quietest place during opening hours, so you shouldn’t hold “quiet” meetings here.
C3 can also be rented outside of opening hours for a deposit. The two rooms are then available for use by project teams for meetings or team-building sessions. All information and contact details can be found on the C3 website.
