Your project campaign

Through your campaign, you are showing the campus community your project idea. That’s great, but perhaps this idea also gives you a bit of anxiety. But running a campaign is actually not that difficult. What is a project campaign? It’s simple: you use the Sandkasten platform to find a certain number of people who like your project (your so-called fans) within a certain period of time.
Past project campaigns have crystallised a few success factors that you should definitely bear in mind:
Choose a realistic and motivating fan goal!
It pays to promote your campaign early!
Describe your project in simple language and use clear communication (as described here)!
Why a project campaign at all?
Why does my project need fans at all? In recent years, it has been shown that projects with a higher level of awareness have also been more successful in their implementation and more people have participated in the project. A campaign therefore helps you to find supporters and make your project known so that it is used later on or everyone comes to your event. And you also help other projects along the way: Many of your friends and acquaintances who become fans of your project will look at other projects straight afterwards.
So it’s a very simple calculation: more people liking your project means more support for you and your project!
The number of fans - your decision
Every project is unique. Who should decide how many fans are needed? Only you can decide that for yourself! By asking yourself a few questions, you will come up with the right answer - for you:
How big is your potential target group? Is it a limited group of people or does your project affect everyone on campus?
How many people should benefit directly from your project, for example by using it within a week?
When is it worthwhile for you and your project team to put the effort into the project? How many people do you want to make (more) happy with it?
Previous project teams, for example, have essentially answered these questions based on the maximum number of visitors to their project. And how long should your campaign run for? Here, too, the decision is up to you. We have analyzed that it should be a maximum of 30 days, because otherwise the mood will dry up too much in the course of the campaign. You should run it for at least 7 days, otherwise it will be over before anyone even notices.
Your community for your project
You get a lot of people excited about the project campaign right from the start. They like the idea behind your project so much that they will be happy to keep you up to date in the future. To reach them, you can regularly post news on your project page. Of course, you can also do this during the campaign if you want all your fans to let their friends know.
Finally, a few specific tips

Set up a marker
This slightly different “showcase” shows everyone on campus that your project campaign is in progress.
Do a little bit every day instead of shooting all the powder at once.
Ask yourself briefly every morning who doesn’t know about your project yet and then approach someone specifically. Whether it’s your fellow students in the cafeteria, the athletes on WhatsApp or the person sitting next to you in class. This way, you will always find more people who will give you feedback on your project and maybe even become fans of your campaign.
Use social media
Many students and employees use the familiar social media and messenger services. You can post the link to your campaign there directly. However, you also have the option of contacting the team behind the Sandkasten platform. We will then promote your project campaign via our social media channels.
